If you already own a domain name from a registrar like Namecheap, GoDaddy, or OVH, connecting it to your new ValoHosting service only takes a few minutes. This guide walks you through the process step by step.
Before you start
Make sure you have the following, both sent to you by email when your order was activated:
- Your server's IP address (found in your welcome email or in the client area under Services → Service Details)
- Login access to your domain registrar's DNS management panel
Step 1: Log in to your domain registrar
Every registrar calls this section something slightly different — look for "DNS Settings", "Advanced DNS", or "Manage DNS Zone" in your account dashboard.
Step 2: Add or update your A records
An A record points your domain to a specific server IP address. Add or edit the following records:

If a different A record already exists for @ or www, edit it rather than adding a duplicate — most registrars will reject or ignore conflicting records for the same host.
Step 3: Wait for DNS propagation
DNS changes aren't instant — they typically take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to spread across the internet, and in rare cases up to 24-48 hours. You can check on the current status of your domain using a free tool like dnschecker.org.
Step 4: Confirm it's working
Once propagation completes, visit your domain in a browser. If you set up your service recently, you may see a default placeholder page until you upload your own website files or install an application through your client area.
